VIDEO: Millburn bests Montville in PK shootout in state semifinal | ||
|
Already sectional champs and county co-champs, Montville wanted a New Jersey Group III title to cap its best-ever boys' soccer season. And for much of its state semifinal against traditional power Millburn, the Mustangs had the better of play. But the Millers found a way to push the game to overtime tied at 2-2. Then after each team had chances to win the contest, a penalty-kick shootout decided the game in Millburn's favor.
James Raytsin came up huge for the Millers, scoring both goals, including the tying tally in the second half. Matt Pesci had both goals for Montville, both coming off free kick opportunities. The Mustangs finish at 18-5-1. Millburn moves on to play Princeton in the Group III state finals. Click play in the box at left to see the sports video highlights. |
