One fortunate bounce made the difference as Columbia earned a boys' soccer victory over Montclair Kimberley. The visiting Cougars took advantage of a mistake for the only goal in their 1-0 triumph. Joe Dente scored in the second half after the ball fell from the grasp of the MKA goalkeeper. Andrew Thompson received credit for the assist on the goal.
Both teams had a number of quality chances in the game but could not otherwise convert. Columbia goalie Mateo Green made seven saves, including a great stop with about six minutes left to play that preserved the lead. MKA keeper John Baney also made a number of nice saves. The win lifts Columbia to 3-6 on the season, while Montclair Kimberley falls to 2-6.
