John Baney made a trio of point-blank saves as he kept a clean sheet in goal for Montclair Kimberley. His efforts helped the Cougars play to a scoreless draw with Nutley in Super Essex Conference boys' soccer action. Baney's big saves kept the game tied during a first half in which Nutley had the clear edge in play. After one more big chance shortly after halftime, however, MKA raised its game and played the rest of the second half and the overtime period evenly.
Nutley goalie Jack Contini made six saves to earn a shutout as well. The Maroon Raiders, who celebrated Senior Day after the game, are now 4-8-2 on the season. Montclair Kimberley is 3-6-1.
