Deven Deppert scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion with under three minutes to play as Pascack Hills earned a dramatic 29-28 football win over Cedar Grove. It was Deppert's fourth touchdown of the night as he led the Cowboys to the comeback victory. The senior running back totaled 131 yards on 20 carries along with the four scores as Pascack Hills ended a five-game losing skid. Cedar Grove had a chance to win the game in the final seconds, but Jack Eichner broke up a pass in the end zone for the Cowboys.
For Cedar Grove, Sammy Ventola completed 15-of-22 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns. Both scoring tosses went to Joe Rufo, who caught eight passes for 119 yards in total. Dan DiPrenda ran for 141 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Panthers, who led 14-0 in the second quarter. The loss deals a serious blow to Cedar Grove's state playoff hopes in North 1, Group I. The Panthers are now 3-4 with just one game left before the cutoff. Pascack Hills is 2-5.
