Joe Mongelli, filling in for the Patriots' injured starting running back Luca Grave, ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns. The sophomore also caught one of Devera's TD passes.

Evidence Njoku had two catches for 53 yards and a score, and added a key kickoff return. The Hayek brothers--Tyler, Hunter and Jarron--each secured a touchdown catch.

Devera ended up 8-for-20 passing for 145 yards. His five touchdown passes match a career high and give him 29 for the season.

Irvington quarterback Jyvon Brown threw for 268 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Much of the yardage, and both of the scores, went to Jasiah Provillon, a Division I recruit, who made seven catches for 153 yards.

Al-Nazir Blackmon ran for 154 yards and a touchdown for the Blue Knights, who suffered their first loss of the season to fall to 8-1.

Wayne Hills is also 8-1, with eight straight wins after a season-opening loss to a Florida team. The Patriots are now setting their sights on the North 1, Group IV sectional title, which would be their first state championship in five years. Wayne Hills is the top seed in the bracket and has beaten three of the other qualifiers, including Irvington and the team it faces in the first round, Roxbury.
