Scoring three goals in under three minutes of the first half, the Dover boys' soccer team rode a first-half explosion to another victory. The Tigers scored all their goals before halftime in the 6-1 triumph over Morristown-Beard. Sebastian Cortes scored the first two goals for Dover, with his second goal starting the three-goal outburst for the Tigers.
Just seconds after Cortes scored, Leandro Suarez scored after a steal by Sebastian Roman to make it 3-0. Two minutes later, Roman sent a blast into the upper corner of the net. Manny Othatz capped the dominating first half with a pair of goals, including a fantastic play where he flipped the ball over the goalkeeper, then volleyed it into the net. Ian Winslow scored on a free kick in the second half to avert the shutout for Morristown-Beard. Will Simon had three saves for the Crimson. Kevin Lopez stopped four shots for Dover. Juan Osorio, Bryan Calle, Ronald Mendez and Chris Rubio had assists for the Tigers, who improve to 12-2 on the season. Morristown-Beard is now 1-10.
