The Clifton girls' volleyball team has been on fire so far this season. And the Mustangs continued their strong play in a two-game sweep of visiting Holy Angels. The Mustangs won by scores of 25-13 and 25-17, capturing their 11th win in 12 matches this fall. Clifton's only loss has come against the #1 team in New Jersey, Immaculate Heart Academy.
Led by the hitting of Kelly Douglas, and the serving of April DiAngelo and Nialah Smith, Clifton dominated the first game. After Holy Angels made a run to take the lead in the second game, Clifton reasserted itself down the stretch to wrap up the match. Lauren Dickerson led the Angels with five kills. Brynn Buonanno had six digs, two kills and an assist. Holy Angels falls to 6-5 on the season. The win helped Clifton lock up the top seed for the upcoming Passaic County Tournament.
