The crosstown matchup between Wayne Valley and Wayne Hills in girls' volleyball was close... for a few minutes. Then the Indians ran off an amazing streak of 19 straight points, and quickly went on to defeat the Patriots in two games.

Down 7-6 in the first game, Wayne Valley earned a side-out to tie the score. Alex Richard then served the next 18 points in a row to give the Indians a 25-7 win in game one. Richard had six aces during the streak. Wayne Valley went on to take the second game 25-11.

Richard also recorded 12 assists for the Indians. Erin Azer and Megan Faber notched five kills apiece for Wayne Valley, while Melissa Ziegler and Kristina DeMarco added four each.

Jasmine Solomon had a block and a kill for Wayne Hills. The Patriots fall to 3-12.

Wayne Valley improves to 12-8 with the win.
