VIDEO: Fair Lawn sweeps Wayne Hills for volleyball victory | ||
|
For a number of years the top boys' volleyball program in North Jersey, Fair Lawn is facing a threat to that dominance this spring. But the Cutters are still a force, as they demonstrated in a sweep of Wayne Hills by scores of 25-13 and 25-22. The win earned at least a share of the Big North Conference Independence Division title for Fair Lawn.
Zach Berkowitz had six kills and three blocks for Fair Lawn, while Tyler Pollock and Sebastian Mirabal also had six kills apiece. Raysean Graham notched five kills and two blocks and Billy Joyce had three kills. Dean Bass recorded 25 assists for the Cutters. For Wayne Hills, Nick Henao had four kills, while Tom Conti notched a kill and two blocks. The Patriots are 9-8 on the season. Fair Lawn is now 16-6. The Cutters split their meetings with Wayne Valley and will share the division title with the Indians if Valley can beat Wayne Hills in its final divisional contest. Wayne Valley is also a real threat to Fair Lawn's streak of six consecutive sectional titles when the state tournament begins in a few weeks.
