The big season continues for the Wayne Valley boys' volleyball team. The Indians won a battle of Top 20-ranked teams, defeating Hackensack in a two-game sweep, 25-23 and 25-13. David Ahn led Wayne Valley with nine kills and two blocks. Danny Sciolaro notched six kills and three aces, while Mike Foglia had six kills and 10 digs.
Matt Widovic recorded 24 assists and a kill, and Justin Korman had 14 digs for the Indians. Hackensack's Eddie Emedoh scored 12 kills in the match, while Jason van der Wilt had seven kills and a block. Winston Solomon added two kills and two blocks. Wayne Valley led for much of the first game before Hackensack rallied to tie the score 23-23. But the Indians scored the next two points to finish out the game. In the second game, an eight-point run featuring seven service points by Alex Kasperowicz allowed Wayne Valley to gain complete control. Wayne Valley is now 18-1, while Hackensack, which was ranked slightly higher than the Indians coming into the match, falls to 18-4.
