DePaul scored touchdowns on its first three possessions, building a 19-7 lead as it sought a Week 5 football upset over St. Peter's Prep. But the Marauders allowed just three points the rest of the way, surging back to earn a 34-22 victory. Shayne Simon caught six passes for 125 yards and one touchdown for St. Peter's, and Jorge Portorreal had four catches for 100 yards and scored twice. Johnathan Lewis threw for 200 yards and one of the TD passes, while running for 58 yards and another score.
Dakari Falconer led the Marauders in rushing with 60 yards. Damion Abrams added a short touchdown run. DePaul opened up quickly, taking advantage of a bad punt snap and an interception to grab a 12-0 lead. Vinnie DePalma scored both of those touchdowns, while Chase Hebron contributed a scoring run early in the second quarter. Teddy Harper had two interceptions for the Spartans, who drop to 1-4 against an extremely difficult schedule. St. Peter's bounced back from its first loss to get to 4-1; the Marauders face a huge game this weekend against Bergen Catholic, which is ranked #1 in New Jersey in at least one poll.
