VIDEO: Grange guides Teaneck past Eastside to end streak | ||

In a frantic fourth quarter, it seemed Teaneck's bid to snap a 20-game losing streak could possibly slip through its fingers. But DeAndre Grange made sure the Highwaymen held on to record a 12-6 road victory. Grange recovered a fumble in the final minutes to end the Eastside comeback attempt. It was the last of several big plays by the junior running back/linebacker, which included an interception in the end zone early in the fourth quarter.
Teaneck put together two long drives in the first half to take a 12-0 lead. Quarterback Jamaal Carr converted a fourth down on a sneak to keep the first drive alive, then finished it off with a two-yard run. In the second quarter, Carr tossed a screen pass to Grange that turned into a 46-yard gain. Then on fourth-and-goal from the 3, Grange made a terrific adjustment on a handoff to bounce his run outside the tackle and take it in for the score. Eastside gained nearly all of its yardage through the air, as Jahmiek Williams threw for 253 yards. Most of Williams's big plays came as he scrambled to buy time, including the Ghosts' only touchdown. With a defender hanging onto his jersey, Williams lofted a 29-yard scoring pass to Malachi Oji to cut the lead to 12-6 with 6:01 to play. When the Ghosts got the ball back, Williams hit Ramir Tann-Davis with a long pass into Teaneck territory. But the fumble ended Eastside's hopes of a miracle finish. Tann-Davis was the Ghosts' leading receiver with five catches for 130 yards. Tony Perez had five receptions for 88 yards. Eastside falls to 2-2. Teaneck gets its first win since Week 2 of the 2014 season and improves to 1-3.
