VIDEO: Bridgewater-Raritan rolls by Lenape for Group IV title
Written by - Thursday, May 28 2015

Bridgewater-Raritan has handled every challenge this boys' lacrosse season, and the Panthers dealt with a one-day delay for the Group IV state final without much sweat. A pair of big runs keyed Bridgewater-Raritan's 16-8 triumph over Lenape.

The Panthers fell behind 1-0, but then scored seven of the next eight goals to take control of the game. After Lenape cut the deficit to 9-5 at the half, Bridgewater-Raritan pumped in four goals in less than three minutes of the third quarter to effectively put the game away.

Brian Kolen had a big game offensively for Bridgewater-Raritan, scoring five goals and adding two assists. Ethan Christensen found the net four times, while Ethan Locker and Nick Attanasio added two goals apiece.

Griffin Figel notched a goal and three assists for the Panthers. Goalie Luke Konen made six saves.

Matt Smith paced Lenape with two goals and one assist. Tim Montgomery and Wolfe had a goal and an assist apiece. The South champion Indians finish the season at 13-7.

Bridgewater-Raritan is now 21-0, the only unbeaten team in New Jersey. The Panthers will be the top seed in the Tournament of Champions, drawing a first-round bye before playing the winner of Ridgewood and Pingry in the semifinals.
