Pulling away in a key third quarter, Morristown-Beard advanced to the semifinals of the Non-Public B state lacrosse tournament. The fourth-seeded Crimson knocked off Newark Academy, 12-8. Morristown-Beard outscored the Minutemen 4-0 in the pivotal third period. Newark Academy cut the deficit to two midway through the final quarter, but the Crimson quickly responded with two goals to put the game away.
Brad Dallas led the way for Morristown-Beard with four goals and an assist. Kevin Gill had two goals and two assists for the Crimson, while Sam Hatfield and Mack Iuliano notched two goals and one assist apiece. Connor Morin had a goal and two assists and Harris Johnson also scored. Garrett Ryon made eight saves for Morristown-Beard. Fifth-seeded Newark Academy got three goals from Spencer Josloff. Mike Connolly and Jack Snyder had two goals apiece and Sam Rollenhagen also scored. Sam Enwoenwu recorded three assists. The Minutemen finish their season at 9-8. Morristown-Beard is 8-13. The Crimson will have to travel to meet top-seeded Pingry in the semifinal this weekend.
