VIDEO: Wayne Hills keeps rolling as it takes down Pascack Valley
Written by - Friday, October 7 2016

The Wayne Hills express keeps on rolling. The Patriots scored their fifth consecutive football win behind big nights from Luca Grave and Brendan Devera, defeating Pascack Valley on the road, 42-14.

Grave ran for 173 yards and caught two passes for 52 more as he led Wayne Hills in total yardage. Grave also scored a touchdown when he recovered a fumbled punt in the end zone.

The other five Patriot touchdowns came courtesy of Devera and the passing game. The senior quarterback completed 12-of-22 passes for 215 yards and those five scores.

Hunter Hayek was the primary target in this game, catching six passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Evidence Njoku had two catches, both for touchdowns, and Tyler Hayek also hauled in a TD pass.

Pascack Valley's offense pretty much started and stopped with senior running back Matt Urrea. He carried the ball 27 times for 143 yards and both of his team's touchdowns.

Wayne Hills completely bottled up the Indians' passing game, recording more sacks (three) than pass completions allowed (two). Jason Modak had two of the sacks and eight total tackles.

It has been a tough season thus far for Pascack Valley, a team that reached the state playoffs last year and won a sectional title in 2014. This loss drops the Indians to 0-5.

Wayne Hills, meantime, is unbeaten against New Jersey opponents and improves to 5-1 overall. The Patriots have a bye this coming weekend before facing Passaic Valley, with a showdown against unbeaten rival Wayne Valley looming on October 28.
