Behind a standout performance in the net, the Ramapo ice hockey team made a single goal stand up for a victory. The Green Raiders edged defending state champion Ramsey, 1-0, at the Ice Vault. Luke Mutterer made 35 saves to earn the shutout victory. Mutterer held up against an onslaught in the final minutes as Ramsey tried to pull out a tie.
Ramapo got the only goal of the game early in the third period, as Pierce Fogarty scored off assists from Kyle Livernois and Michael Pazos. The game was fairly evenly contested throughout. Jonny Kopack made 21 saves for Ramsey. The Rams lost most of their key players from last year's Public B state champion squad; they have scored just one goal in dropping their last four games. Ramsey is now 1-4. Ramapo bounced back from two straight defeats to even their season record at 2-2-1.
