Boonton still harbored hopes for the football state playoffs entering its Week 8 game at Hopatcong. The Bombers rallied to tie the score in the third quarter, but the Chiefs got the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth, and held on to win, ending Boonton's playoff dreams.
