The NJAC Independence Division football title and top seed in the upcoming state playoffs were on the line as Mountain Lakes hosted Butler in a battle of unbeaten squads. In a surprisingly low-scoring contest, the Herd built a 14-0 lead, then held off a comeback attempt to post the victory. It's the 21st straight football triumph for Mountain Lakes, while Butler should still get a solid seed in the playoffs despite the loss.
