DePaul came close to a huge upset in the second round of the Non-Public state basketball tournament. Playing at St. Peter's Prep, ranked in the state's top five, the Spartans held the lead with just over a minute to play before a frantic finish allowed the Marauders to pull it out. In the defeat, DePaul's Justin Crosgile pumped in 31 points, allowing him to become only the fourth Passaic County high school basketball player (and first Spartan) to exceed the 2,000-point mark.
