Coming off two undefeated league championships, the Kinnelon girls' soccer team showed it will be tough again in 2008 with a 4-0 opening night win over West Essex.

Senior Carleigh Morba connected on passes from sophomores Ashley Betts and Justine Gray in the 21st and 26th minutes to make in 2-0.  Betts made it a three-goal lead at the break when she scored from a through ball from junior Allie Speck.

Early in the second half, Morba sent a pass to Aine Schache, who crossed it to Betts for the easy tap-in to complete the scoring.

Senior keeper Katie Burke made 7 saves and sophomore Morgan Masterson played the final 15 minutes and stopped four shots.
