The Lancers took an early lead on a free kick goal by Mike Rogulski even though Pequannock had the better of play in the opening minutes. But the Panthers weren't dismayed, rallying back to score the next three goals. Yankovich tallied the first goal after stealing the ball from a defender. Brian O'Hara put the Panthers up by scoring on a header on a scramble in front, before Yankovich scored on his own header off a corner kick.
Lakeland's Tom Voter connected midway through the second half to make it a 3-2 game, but Yankovich iced the win for Pequannock when he scored on a header off a long throw-in by Sal DeVito. The Panthers are now 1-1 while Lakeland falls to 0-2.
