Just reaching the state playoffs was a major goal for the Lakeland boys' lacrosse team in its second varsity season. The Lancers earned a first-round home game against River Dell, but trailed 7-6 after a sloppy first half. The third quarter would be something to remember for the Lancers, as they outscored the Golden Hawks 11-0 to blow the game apart and went on to record their first-ever state tournament victory.
