In a rematch of the Morris County boys' soccer final, Montville met Chatham in the state Group III semifinal. The Mustangs started well, but as the game wore on, the Cougars began to take charge. Just like the previous meeting, this game would go into overtime, but this time it was Chatham that came up with the golden goal, as Conor Goepel played the hero.
