Despite having the top seed and a 33-game winning streak, Mountain Lakes didn't have an easy time in its first round state football game in North 1, Group I. Eighth seed North Warren took a lead on the Herd, and was in the game up to the fourth quarter. But Mountain Lakes pulled out the win to move on to the semifinal round.
