Last winter, Passaic Valley suffered through a brutal ice hockey season, winning only three games all year. The Hornets managed to win the same number of games in four days to capture their first-ever Passaic County tournament title. In the final, Passaic Valley's penalty-killing proved key, as the Hornets blanked DePaul on six power plays while scoring a short-handed goal.
