Despite a middling record, Pequannock had to be considered a dangerous team in the North 1, Group II boys' soccer tournament. No team knew that better than Westwood, which was one of the Panthers' victims during their surprising run to the 2009 sectional final. This year's first-round state matchup was another close game, but a late goal lifted the Cardinals and ended Pequannock's season.
