After waiting a while to start the game, Pequannock didn't wait much longer to assert control of the Group II state softball semifinal against Caldwell. Kayla Lombardo's first-inning homer put the Panthers ahead to stay, and Dana Nielsen dominated on the hill as Pequannock reached its second state final in three years.
