After upsetting West Milford in the semifinals of the Passaic County softball tournament, fourth-seeded Wayne Hills took on third seed Pompton Lakes in the final. The Cardinals fell behind early, but came back twice to tie the game. But a two-out rally in the top of the seventh allowed the Patriots to claim the lead again, and this time they held on to claim the softball title, the first in the sports history of the school.
