While other local ice hockey teams started their sports season the first week of December, Passaic Valley sat idle. The Hornets finally got on the ice for a matchup with local rival Wayne Valley, and the rust showed. The Indians dominated the first two periods of play, but an excellent effort by Passaic Valley goalie Joe Calandriello kept the hockey game scoreless.
