Whippany Park's bats had been hot during the Group I New Jersey state baseball tournament--nearly as hot as the weather at Toms River for the final. But Pitman lefty Steve Schuler cooled off the Wildcats, firing a shutout that denied Whippany Park the dream ending to its season. While Pitman celebrates its first state title, Whippany Park will still have to wait. The Cats finish the baseball season at 20-4.
