Whippany Park's bats had been hot during the Group I state tournament--nearly as hot as the weather at Toms River for the final. But Pitman lefty Steve Schuler cooled off the Wildcats in a 5-0 win that denied Whippany Park its first state title. The Cats finish the season at 20-4.
