The Morristown-Beard girls' ice hockey team isn't used to losses. The Crimson bounced back in style from a rare defeat to knock off Princeton High School, 9-1. Eight different players scored for Morristown-Beard. Kelly Dolan had two goals and an assist for the Crimson. Emma Polaski, Carolyn Chambers and Delaney Flinn added a goal and two assists apiece.
The Crimson outshot Princeton 33-2 in the game. Morristown-Beard was coming off a 4-2 loss to Portledge of New York two days earlier, and Princeton got the first goal of this contest when Lucy Herring backhanded one home on a power play. But it was all Crimson after that, as they scored five times before the first period was over. The Crimson are now 2-1 as they seek their seventh Mid-Atlantic (WIHLMA) league title in eight years. This was the season opener for Princeton. For sports video highlights of this high school girls' ice hockey game, click play in the box at left. |
