In the first official varsity game on Lenape Valley's new turf field, North Warren had all the fun. The visiting Patriots shut out the home team Patriots by a 3-0 score in the boys' soccer season opener for both squads.

Gavin Gross and Zavier Paniagua both scored a goal and added an assist for North Warren. For Gross, it was the 26th goal of his high school career, while Paniagua tallied his first varsity goal. Gian Marco DeFilippis also found the net for the visitors.

Lenape Valley goalkeeper Matt Ellingworth kept his team in the game, making 12 saves.

Both teams made the state tournament last season but lost in the first round.
