Behind a hat trick from freshman Matt Mood, Gloucester Catholic made the most of its trip north. The Rams skated to a 6-2 win over Seton Hall Prep, keeping the Pirates winless on the ice hockey season. Gloucester Catholic broke open a one-goal game by scoring three times in the latter half of the second period. Mood had two of those goals, and completed his hat trick with a breakaway score late in the contest at Codey Arena.
Mike Malloy and Joe Vogt had a goal and an assist apiece for the Rams. Trevor Madden also scored and Dominik Newman made 23 saves. Seton Hall broke up the shutout with a pair of third-period goals, notched by Jack Rutter and Alex Cautela. Starting goalie Daniel Lipkin had 23 stops for the Pirates. Seton Hall, which has struggled within the elite Gordon Conference for the past four seasons, is now 0-6 this year, with five of those defeats in league play. Gloucester Catholic is now 2-2-1 overall, 1-2-1 in Gordon play, and is ranked within the state's Top 20 teams.
