Morristown-Beard doesn't have a lot of girls on its ice hockey roster. But the players the Crimson does have are living up to the school's recent tradition. The Crimson defeated Princeton Day School, 5-1, to maintain its perfect record this season. Leading scorer Kendall Cornine scored three goals and added an assist for Morristown-Beard.
Ally Detre had a goal and three assists for the Crimson, while Kathleen McNamara scored a goal and added an assist. Goalie Maggie O'Connell made 11 saves. Morristown-Beard outshot Princeton Day 45-12. Malia Leveson scored for the Panthers, making it just a 2-1 game heading into the third period. Annika Asplundh made 40 saves to keep Princeton Day in contention until the late going. Princeton Day is now 5-5. Morristown-Beard improves to 9-0. The Crimson are aiming for a sixth straight WIHLMA league title, with the championships coming up in mid-February.
