New Jersey's newest high school ice hockey program has hit the ice in full stride. The Frisch School, playing its first varsity season, earned its fourth victory by outskating Nottingham/Hamilton in a 7-3 win. Benjamin Feintuch led Frisch as he recorded a hat trick, with a goal in each period. Joseph Tropp scored twice for the Cougars.
Aaron Abecassis notched a goal and two assists, while Maury Bauer added a goal and an assist. Noah Petak added a pair of assists for Frisch. The Cougars fell behind 1-0 early, but scored the next five goals to take command. After Nottingham responded with two scores to make the game competitive again, Frisch locked up the win with a pair of third-period goals. Alex Truban had a goal and an assist for Nottingham. Garrett Bolton and Peyton Truban also scored for the Northstars, who fall to 0-7. Charlie Freilich made 26 saves in the win. Frisch, based in Paramus, is the only Jewish yeshiva high school currently playing varsity ice hockey in the nation. The Cougars, who are playing their home games at Mackay Park in Englewood, have exceeded expectations with a 4-2-1 record thus far.
