This was a win Ramapo needed. After dropping two straight games to start the 2016 football season, the Green Raiders made their home debut against Snyder of Jersey City. And Ramapo quickly turned the contest into a one-sided affair, rolling to a 56-12 triumph.
Tommy Jaten threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns, while also running for a score, to lead the Ramapo offense. Jaten was 9-for-11 through the air. The Raiders piled up 215 yards rushing, with five different players scoring touchdowns on the ground. Backup quarterback A.J. Wingfield was the leading rusher with 67 yards and a score. Stephen Hoover had 54 yards running and also found the end zone. Jack Scordato caught two passes, both going for touchdowns. Michael Graff recorded three catches for 91 yards and a score, and Noah Baker had 59 receiving yards plus a rushing touchdown. The Ramapo defense shut down Snyder completely in the first half, allowing the Raiders to build a 42-0 lead at the break. The Tigers did score twice in the third quarter, including a 77-yard kickoff return by Fabian Harris. Quarterback Jahleel Harris also led a touchdown drive, which was capped by a short run by Nolan Burns. The loss drops Snyder to 1-2. Ramapo is also now 1-2, and looks to continue its turnaround with a road game at Pascack Valley.
