Down by three goals in the third period, the Ramapo ice hockey team came charging back to pull out a tie with Ramsey. Ben Surat's tip-in goal with under four minutes to play created the 4-4 final score. Dalton Graham, who has missed much of the season for Ramapo with an injury, notched a goal and an assist for the Green Raiders. Michael Lagana and Zach Van Peenan also scored and Michael Pear had two assists.
Luke Mutterer made 31 saves for Ramapo. Ramsey built a 4-1 lead after two periods as Dan Halik scored once and added two assists. Joe Koons and Tyler Botta had a goal and an assist apiece for the Rams. Nick Pedulla also scored for Ramsey and Brendan McCaskey made 23 saves. Although the Rams didn't get the win, they did snap a five-game losing skid. One year after a state championship, Ramsey's difficult season continues as it now holds a 2-10-1 record. Ramapo is now 3-7-3. For sports video highlights of this New Jersey and Big North Conference high school ice hockey game, click play in the box at left. |
