VIDEO: Old Tappan breezes past Teaneck in season opener | ||

Old Tappan beat Teaneck--and a strong, gusty wind--to capture its season opener in boys' soccer. The defending Bergen County champions got a pair of second-half goals from Nathan Bodenstein as they posted a 3-0 shutout. With the wind at Teaneck's back in the first half, the game at Overpeck County Park was played fairly evenly. But the Golden Knights came up with the only goal, when Jae Cho took advantage of a misplay to score.
With the wind helping Old Tappan in the second half, the Knights dominated play, and put the game away on Bodenstein's two goals. The first came on a beautiful through ball from Steven Weisinger. The senior's second goal came after Teaneck could not clear after a ball sent into the box by Bodenstein's twin brother, Adam. Adam Bodenstein was credited with two assists for Old Tappan. James Kim made three saves to earn the shutout. Nick Pinto had several saves for Teaneck, including a tremendous diving stop to deny Nathan Bodenstein in the first half.
