Mohammed Huzein headed home a corner kick to provide all the offense as Fair Lawn held off a boys' soccer upset bid by Westwood. Huzein, the Cutters' leading scorer, converted in the first half for the 1-0 win. The goal came directly off the corner kick from George Ananev, who earned the assist. It's the 10th goal of the season for Huzein.
Fair Lawn, which came into this game off a surprising victory over Bergen Catholic, outshot Westwood by a wide margin but could not convert another chance. Westwood goalie Alex Iwaskiw made 12 saves, and was helped out by defender Paul McClair, who twice made plays that kept the ball out of the net. The Cardinals, who have played better of late, still fell to 1-11-1. Fair Lawn has seven wins and a draw in its last nine games and is 9-4-2 overall on the season.
