In a match-up of top Essex County boys' volleyball teams, Belleville staked an early claim with a two-game sweep of Bloomfield. The Bucs maintained their undefeated record with the 25-20, 25-18 triumph.

P.J. Gencarelli had 13 kills to lead Belleville. Marlon Rodriguez posted seven kills and two assists, while Edward Edghill had three kills and three blocks.

The Bucs scored 10 straight points in the second game to rally from behind and take a decisive lead. Libero Kevin Vicente was the server during that run and also had 11 digs, while Ammar Rahim posted 24 assists.

For Bloomfield, Khalil Naouai recorded 11 kills and an ace. Rendall Senatus had a kill and six assists. The Bengals, who have faced many of New Jersey's best teams in the early part of the season, fall to 2-6.

Belleville is now 5-0.
